City Slab HorrorDouble CD. Tracks:
Made by: Deering, Ellard, with guest Bradbury Following Bradbury's departure, Deering arrived to continue the live shows and to work on the first album for which we had an expected release. This deadline was one of many causes of tension during the recording, another was an ill fated association with a local art center which provided extremely uncomfortable workspace. Paul's influence is most evident in the tracks Spasm, Bladders and Voices Of The Dead. As with STA, some of the tracks are group efforts while others such as 4WD, Explosive New Movie etc. are Ellard solo. Most of the tracks were devised for gigs which became increasingly chaotic - very good or very bad. Bradbury returned for a few live performances, and then finally faced with the need to organise a London show, the group splintered. At this point Ink/Virgin urgently called in the album and the mixdown was performed by Bradbury and Ellard at a time when Deering was unavailable. They then held the album off til the following year. Despite attempts to create a set of linked solo recordings e.g. Deering's Shindi Shimae this period ended in a car wreck. As it probably was bound to. |
