Big Bigot anticipated movements such as IDM - along with works such as Skinny Puppy's Mind TPI album it set the rules for a music still being pursued today. And it was a popular release at the time, very much defining what would later be called the Nettwerk sound. It was recorded throughout late 1985 and early 1986 in a small room at the back of a house in Surry Hills - almost a monk's cell. Although Stretcher had been released in 1985 this was the first album proper after CSH and it was important to show some progress from that release. If CSH had been more powerful in some places, BB has a general intensity that carries across every track. This was our first 16 channel recording. SH went on to tour this album in Australia and then overseas - the European section of the tour leading to complete disaster. This was the end of the first wave of SH - problems would follow that would eventually fall away... |

Come Visit the Big Bigot (1986)Basically the same as the Ink release, but replacing George the Animal with an abridged version of the single Twenty Deadly Diseases. A tiny snippet at the end of Propellor (present on the Ink release) is listed on this release as a separate track, FM Stations Blow Up.
